Jim Whitney is a graduate of the USC Film School and worked as
an award-winning editor in Los Angeles on major television shows;
his awards include a FOCUS Award for excellence in documentary
editing and an Emmy-nomination.
In the last five years he has travelled all over the world, from
the Amazon to Africa and the Arctic, as a producer and
cinematographer on numerous documentaries focusing on environmental
issues, musical communities and indigenous cultures.
He is currently completing Bridgewalkers, a film documenting the
rise of the indigenous voice. In addition, he recently served as
cinematographer on the film, Madaraka & Jaffar, which followed
a peace climb up Mount Kilimanjaro with the sons of Idi Amin and
Julius Nyerere.
