IRAN- Ritual of the Qhaderi order
Overview
The Qadiriyya order was founded by the Iranian sheikh Abd al-Qadir al-Jilani who lived most of his life in Iraq and died in Baghdad in 1166 (Hijra year 561). The brotherhood quickly acquired different branches which today are numerous, each with its own particular activities, and are scattered in many parts of the world, from North Africa to the Far East. One of these is the Qhaderi order of Iran whose members during the remembrance ritual sing hymns accompanied by the drum; call out the name of God and with the rhythmic movement of the head get into a state of trance.
