Danube
Overview
This is an unusual broadcast of the documentary series "World
Music" because it is filmed by the sea! This episode introduces us
to a female Belgian producer who some years ago had the brilliant
idea to organize a music festival on a boat crossing the longest
river in Europe, the Danube.
Together with 20 musicians from all over the world the creative
team of the show travels on a boat for a week recording the
relationship developed between musicians of different nationalities
and the communication channel created through the music jamming in
the cabins, on deck or on stage.
This documentary shows that the language of music can become
global when mixing the African kora with the oriental toubelekia,
the northeuropean bagpipes and the gypsy voices. All these melodies
are constantly connected during this journey to the beautiful
landscapes all around the Danube.
