Overview

The journey begins from the famous Siwa Oasis and the world-renown oracle of Amun, visited by Alexander the Great in 331 B.C. Maya crosses the Great Sand Sea, starting south of the Siwa Oasis, spanning into Libya and Egypt and continuing to the south. It covers 72.000 square kilometers and its dunes are often more that 100 meters high and 100 kilometers in length. So, the only way to cross them is climb them - by-passing them is simply impossible…
