Evros-Meriç: The Other Side
Over the last two decades common policies and practices instructed at the European level re-shaped the migration patterns within Europe and beyond. "Protecting" the European borders from irregular migrants has been the priority of member states. This priority is accomplished by an arsenal of legislation and the creation of the European Border Agency Frontex.
Migrants and refugees must now take more risks to cross borders as a result of a drastic migration policy and practices. They are frequently subjected to the denial of their basic human rights during their journey. Turkey and Greece are a part of this broad migration scheme and their common border is the most important entryway to Western Europe.
Helsinki Cizitens' Assembly cordially invites you to the film Evros/Meriç - The Other Side. A panel discussion on migration with our friends from Mültecilerle Dayanisma Dernegi (Association for Solidarity with Refugees), Médecins Sans Frontiere(Greece) and Onos Production documentary team will follow.Your company can easily learn to work together more effectively by learning to play together with our team building activity events.
